The area is well known for its steam railways, with the Ffestiniog Railway, Snowdon Mountain Railway, and Welsh Highland Railway all within easy reach. A popular local attraction is the Italianate village of Portmeirion.

The area around Betws-y-Coed is ideal for those who enjoy walking. There are some stunning walks in the Gwydir Forest which surrounds the village taking in forest, woods, valleys, rivers and waterfalls.

The high peaks of Snowdonia including Snowdon and the Carneddau are close by for those who enjoy a more rugged terrain. Mountain biking and horse riding is also well catered for in this area of Snowdonia.

For guests who like to relax, this is an excellent base for exploring the stunning scenery of Snowdonia and the rest of North Wales. Enjoy the beautiful lakes and mountains of Snowdonia, or the coastline and beaches of the Lleyn Peninsula and Anglesey.

How to Find Us

Betws-y-Coed is well connected to the UK's road network via North Wales's A55 coastal expressway which links to the M6 and the A5 from the M54.

From the map below it can be seen that this is an ideal holiday base for exploring Snowdonia and the whole of North Wales.
